Volunteers Needed for FinnFest USA 2014
Experience FinnFest USA 2014 from the inside by being a volunteer! For four days in August, Finland and Finnish American sights, sounds, and tastes will define the south end of Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis. We ask you to considering being one of the numerous volunteers to help create a great experience for all.
We need you – both now to help out with planning for FinnFest USA 2014, and we also need over one hundred volunteers each day during the festival.
Volunteer opportunities include the following: (not limited to)
- Greeting / welcoming individuals to FinnFest
- Taking tickets at music events
- Assisting musicians and presenters
- Helping at the registration desk
- Selling and promoting raffles
- Helping in the Tori (marketplace)
- Working on our set-up and/or take-down volunteer crews
Everyone is welcome to be a volunteer! Volunteer shifts are typically 3-4 hours. All tasks provide opportunities to interact with people attending the festival, and we can match you to tasks based on your interests and abilities. Let us know if you have physical limitations and we will accommodate.
Sign yourself up. Ask your neighbors, friends, and family members to also sign up. Tell them to “come on down”, to share the spirit of the festival.
Volunteers need not be Finnish. Among the many volunteers we need, we are looking for a few individuals with Finnish or Swedish language skills to help out with specific tasks. We especially want to help Finnish and Swedish language speakers feel welcome.
Please fill out our volunteer sign-up form today and let us know you’ll be able to help out at the festival. Thanks for your interest, and we look forward to seeing you in August!
